Is that the sign at the entrance? Cause… I like it. It’s bleak, devoid of any semblance of life or compassion. It brings to mind images of a consumerist, industrial-based society of straight lines and black and white uniformity and conformity. There’s just the hint of rust, suggesting a lack of pride on the part of the sign manufacturer, or that it’s been up for far too long around people who have lost any desire to care for it. The metal bar below it suggests that maybe it once held another sign or message, like a population marker or a simple ‘you’re never leaving’ warning, but even that, too, fell apart through centuries of neglect and despair.
Anyway… I love analyzing vague symbols.
