Question with 1 note

Anonymous asked: Hey, I've been trying to find someone that could answer this, or maybe point to somewhere that could, but what's the difference (if any) between "liberalism" and "progressivism"? Is there a difference in motive or philosophy between liberals and progressives, at least in the US? Thank you for any help.

There’s no philosophical difference that I’m aware of, though some people may prefer to call themselves one or the other for various reasons. I prefer liberal because liberal is treated like a dirty word down in many parts of Texas, and using the word progressive feels like letting the conservatives win. And we can’t have that.
